Developer support for the little green robot that is Android is increasing, and with another 10 titles on the way from Gameloft, users will no doubt be chuffed to hear N.O.V.A. and Asphalt 5 are part of that line-up.

N.O.V.A. is a halo-styled first-person shooter that was awesome on iPhone. Asphalt 5 is a racing game that is also similarly praised in the world of the App Store.

The full list of games is as follows: Asphalt 5, Let’s Golf!, Assassin’s Creed, Hero of Sparta, Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, Dungeon Hunter, Real Football 2010, N.O.V.A. Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, and Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.

According to the press release, each of the ten games has been optimised for top-end devices, and presumably a few mid-ranged phones, as well.

So if you are the lucky owner of a Google Nexus One, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, HTC Desire, Motorola Milestone or Motorola Motoroi, the games should, in theory, run like a dream – at least when all the porting issues have been ironed out.

“Our goal has always been to offer the best gaming experience for each device,” says Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president, publishing, Gameloft.

“With the arrival of smartphones that allow the creation of high quality games, we are excited to bring consumers a unique line up of diverse titles combining rich 3D graphics and intense gameplay.”

Fancy gettin in on the action? You will have to go through the Gameloft website. These titles aren’t on the Android store just yet.
