Bliss Software Inc today is pleased to announce the availability of Lazy Diet, a great application featuring new approach to lose weight and always stay in a good shape. This application is based on subliminal effect of sound and it sends messages that get processed in our brain. After that our body starts to produce more energy and human growth hormone, ensuring muscles build-up. During this process people normally lose a lot of calories as our body consumes energy to increase muscles.

Lazy Diet features simple and intuitive design, the app is easy to grasp and has a sleek interface. Users can calculate BMI, listen to Pure Sound that comes bundled with the application or during the playback of their favorite tracks. In the latter case Pure Sound is mixed with the playlist so users enjoy their favorite music and take advantage of the app at the same time. ‘Daily Tips’ is a very useful feature giving you advice on how to lose weight. For those users who care about their privacy and security, a Pass code protection is implemented into the application.

Users who don’t have much time for hard and sometimes expensiveworkouts will find this app very handy. It’s intended to be used twice a day in the morning and evening. This application is a good addition to a regular diet and should be used no more than 2 hours a day. Lazy Dietis going to be a great companion for people on a diet.

The Apple iPhone 3G S is the latest revision of Apple’s iPhone handset. Announced one year after the iPhone 3G, the iPhone 3G S is a faster phone with more features, but one that looks remarkably similar to previous generation iPhones.

Apple say that the iPhone 3G S is up to twice as fast as the iPhone 3G, and that in turn was twice as fast as the original iPhone. So, if you still have the original model, then it’s probably worth trading up for the speed increase alone.

On the back is a three megapixel camera with autofocus, but no flash. The iPhone 3G S is the first iPhone to include video recording (something that other phones have had for years). Apple say that the 3G S can record up to 640 x 480 pixels at 30 frames per second, which is comparable with most other high-end phones. It doesn’t really compete with the 5, 8 or even 12 megapixel cameras in some rivals though, but it is certainly a huge improvement over the old model.

Something else missing from previous iPhones was support for MMS multimedia messaging, a feature rarely used by most people.. but perhaps something that will appeal to iPhone users. The new iPhone 3.0 software also introduces some other long overdue features such as copy and paste and a landscape virtual keyboard – but it also comes with some highly innovative features that you might wonder how you lived without, including an application to locate a lost iPhone on a map and a remote wipe feature if it gets stolen.

There are a whole load of other upgrades in the new version of the iPhone software, and existing iPhone owners can upgrade their handsets to take advantage of some of these features too. These include a better calendar, more comprehensive search facility, improvements to web browsing and more multimedia playback features. Another long overdue feature is that you can tether the iPhone 3G S to a laptop as a portable modem.. but only if you are not using the US AT&T network. One key weakness with the iPhone has been the inability to run several applications at once, and it seems that the iPhone 3G S may still have this problem.

The iPhone has had GPS support in it since last year – the iPhone 3G S introduces a digital compass which can be used either like a traditional compass, or it can combine with the iPhone’s mapping application to automatically orient maps depending on which way you are facing. GPS also integrates with the camera so that both photos and videos can be geo-tagged.

The 3.5″ 320 x 480 pixel touchscreen display is pretty similar to the one found on older models. Although the iPhone’s software makes good use of the available pixels, handsets such as the HTC Touch Diamond2 have much higher resolution displays. The iPhone supports multi-touch, which is something that some rivals can’t manage, and it also has a special coating to resist fingerprints.

Internal memory is now 16GB or 32GB, which should be enough for most people, although there is no way to expand it. It’s certainly better than the 4GB of memory in the original base model. Apple say that they have improved the battery life, but it still gives the same 5 hours talktime on 3G with up to 12 days standby time of the previous model, and annoyingly the battery is not user replaceable.

Underneath, this is a quad-band GSM phone with tri-band UMTS support plus HSDPA high-speed downloads up to 7.2 Mbps. The iPhone 3G S also supports WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and USB connectivity. The size and weight are pretty much unchanged from the previous version, and there are two simple colour schemes available of black or white.

The phrase “the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree” certainly applies here. The iPhone 3G S is almost impossible to tell apart from the previous generation from the outside, it builds on the strengths of previous iPhone generations and it finally gets around to correcting some of their faults.

Apple say that the iPhone should be available on the US AT&T network from 19th June onwards, priced at $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model when taken with a 2 year contract. There’s no word of availability on other carriers worldwide, but presumably we will hear more over the next few weeks.

Presumably announced to a fanfare of whale song and the whiff of joss-sticks, this preview of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness shows an intriguing device combining classic Sony Ericsson design with transparent panels to make a very distinctive looking phone.

The full horror of the press release can really only be experience by reading the full thing:

Today at a business update meeting, Sony Ericsson showed the new Xperia™ Pureness, a simple design phone which brings together beautiful craftsmanship and the concept of “talk, text, time – a holiday from technology”. The Xperia™ Pureness will be officially launched in November 2009 through selected retail distribution channels in key cities around the world.

The handset was shown to media attending an event to launch Sony Ericsson’s new brand direction where the company also confirmed its alignment under the Sonymake.believe brand message.

Xperia™ Pureness approaches the mobile phone as a work of art rather than technology. The company’s designers aimed to sculpt an object of design that reflected the purity of water and a sense of calmness when not in use.

More details on Xperia™ Pureness will be available when the phone launches in November 2009.

Pretty silly stuff, we think. But the phone looks nice.. although we have a feeling that this will be really very expensive, whenever it does actually reach the shops.

Based closely on the BlackBerry 8800, the RIM BlackBerry 8830 World Edition(or alternatively the BlackBerry 8830v) is a dual-mode CDMA/GSM version of this popular messaging device.

Dual-mode GSM/CDMA handsets are very rare, one notable one being theMotorola A840, but the this approach allows subscribers to US CDMA networks (such as Verizon) access to more common GSM networks when roaming abroad. Yes, certain carriers in the US (such as T-Mobile) support GSM in the United States, but this lack of roaming functionality has always put CDMA-only networks at a disadvantage.

This is a dual band 800/1900 MHz CDMA2000 device with support for 1X EVDO high-speed data, plus the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition supports 900/1800 MHz GSM with GPRS data. In contrast, the BlackBerry 8800 is a quad-band GSM device with GPRS and EDGE. The BlackBerry 8830 switches seamlessly between GSM and CDMA (according to Verizon) and subscribers will keep the same phone number where ever they go.

As far as we can tell, the rest of the 8830’s specifications are identical to the 8800 – with the familiar messaging systems, personal information management functions, Bluetooth, excellent QVGA screen, expandable memory, media player and GPS support. This last function is another interesting feature in the 8800 series of BlackBerries, but as yet the GPS functionality is limited to a few location-based services.. but then the 8800 has only been around for a couple of months and we still wait to see what other applications can be developed for it.

The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition is fairly compact compared to the original “classic” BlackBerry device at 114 x 66 x 14mm / 4.5″ x 2.6″ x 0.6″ and 132 grams (4.6 ounces). Talktime is a good 5 hours and the maximum standby time is an astonishing 22 days. If you use the BlackBerry 8830 just for email then you can expect to be at the upper end of this scale, although voice calls and Bluetooth use will eat into the battery life.

We understand that the BlackBerry 8830 will be available to US-based business customers from Verizon on May 14th 2007, followed by a release to Verizon’s retail stores on May 28th. If taken with a new contract then the 8830 will be around $300 after a $100 rebate.

Nannek recently released PicoScrum 1.3, their easy-to-use task management application for iPhone and iPod touch. PicoScrum helps users break down projects into short-term intervals called Sprints. Rather than setting arbitrary due dates for each Task, PicoScrum lets users discover realistic end-dates for their Projects based on how much time they actually have available to work on each Project. Armed with this information, users are able to adjust their schedules and prioritize their tasks in whatever ways are necessary to reach their goals.

* Create Projects to hold Tasks
Each Project represents a high-level goal that the user would like to accomplish. This can be anything from “Software ApplicationDevelopment” to “Back Yard Landscaping”.

* Create Tasks within each Project
Each Task holds nothing more than a simple one-line description and an initial estimate, typically in hours of actual work that is required.

* Prioritize the Backlog
The set of all Tasks for a Project is called the Backlog. Tasks can be prioritized through a simple drag-and-drop interface.

* Start Sprinting
As Tasks are added and prioritized, PicoScrum automatically groups them into blocks of time called Sprints. Rather than working against the entire Backlog, a user works to reach easily attainable goals one Sprint at a time.

* Revise As Necessary
While Sprinting, the user is provided with information about their progress. They can use graphical Burndown Charts to see how likely they are to meet their Sprint goal, and they can refer to many useful metrics including a projected end date for the entire Project.
